Arguably, there is nothing more painful than a pinched nerve, a pinched sciatic nerve. It is excruciatingly painful. The first time I experienced a pinched sciatic nerve was on Jan 2nd 2005 wrestling with my dog. I was incapacitated for 2 months and put on 17 pounds from the inactivity. I was in pain standing, laying, and worse yet, sitting. I literally couldn't do anything for almost 2 MONTHS I was in so much pain.
Trying to get into a car was next to impossible. Then getting out wasn't any easier. But I had to do something to find out exactly what my problem was.
I eventually could, barely, make it to the hospital to get some x-rays done. Then an MRI. Lots of perscription painklillers. And to top everything off, I had NO insurance. I had to pay cash for everything and it depleted my savings. With no income coming in because of my disability, it wasn't long before my savings was history. And my business was in a downward spiral. Things weren't looking to good.
So a few months later now I was broke and still in a world of hurt. I felt 20 years older than I was. Having back problems will do that to you.
I finally found out my back problem was related to a compressed disk that eventually pinched my sciatic nerve causing me even more pain than I was in initially. When I was able to move around a little bit I started researching online solutions to my pinched sciatic nerve. I still couldn't sit at my computer chair for longer than a few minutes a time so I kneeled in my chair instead.
I was determined to find out some solutions so I'd never have to go through this again. What I found out in my research was a preventable solution: sciatic excercises

Relieving Sciatic Nerve Pain with Exercises
Nothing worse than a back problem is there? Not to many physical handicaps will make you feel older than your age than a back problem will. Specifically sciatica
For someone who has experienced this severe, almost crippling, painful back problem, I can tell you firsthand I do know how you feel. I've been there. I ended up losing my business from being laid up with severe sciatica the first time I experienced it 2 years ago for almost 2 months. And I packed on 17 lbs from the inactivity.
Almost 2 months of excruciating pain. I hurt laying down, I hurt standing, forget about sitting or even sleeping through the night. I'd wake up suddenly in the middle of the night gripping my right leg from a painful "charlie horse". The sciatic nerve felt like a fully stretched to the max rubber band and any kind of movement would just increase the pain. I would literally break into a sweat while clenching the area of my leg that felt like it was in fire.
If you've experienced any kind of sciatic nerve pain you know exactly what I'm saying.
I was told by a back specialist the certain excercises would alleviate the pain. Are you kidding me I thought. I can hardly move much less breathe without excruciating pain, how am I supposed to excercise in this condition?
I learned very carefully.
Proper excercise is the key to avoiding sciatica and also in healing it if you've had it and never want to experience it ever again.
With some gentle and basic sciatica excercises you can make sure you never go down that road again.
This blog has been set up to help those who have "been down sciatica lane" and don't want to go back. I will be adding helpful articles, excercises, suggestions and medical tips on how to get better.

If you've experienced sciatica prior to stopping here, I invite you to come back as I intend on filling up this site with lots of useful sciatica information in the coming weeks.
